According to the lock-down guide given by Prime Minister, British Museums are set to open.

The news delivered on Monday at the House of Commons, Prime Minister said that “all galleries and institutions should be open by June 21, barring a spike in Covid-19 infections”

Johnson’s “road map,” allows the country to reopen in four phases, with the first beginning March 8 and surrounding a return to full, in-person teaching at primary and secondary schools as well as the possibility of enjoying coffee outside. Galleries, considered “nonessential retail,” will open as part of the second phase, as will many restaurants, however, the indoor service has not yet specified along with possible opening universities and colleges, while museums and theaters will be allowed to open as part of the third phase.

However, the news gave relief to everyone after a prolonged bumpy year, many institutions reopened in June after locking down in spring amid the first wave of the pandemic, moreover, the rising number of cases lead to close institutions in November once again A few reopened in early December as restrictions were lifted, but then museums nationwide had to close down again on December 30 when the country returned to lockdown amid the virus’s outburst.

However, the fiscal year begins in April resulting in providing art institutions to receive funds above those of the previous year by 2.3%.
