Four members of the same Pakistani-origin Muslim family were killed in a premeditated truck attack.

The three members of the family died at the spot whereas the one little boy is fighting for his life. A 20-year-old Canadian man has been charged with four counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

The act is considered to be the result of extreme violence and Islamophobia. The culprit has been arrested and is under investigation. As per the preliminary investigation, the offender did not know the family members.

Police are weighing possible terrorism charges, he said, adding that it is believed to be a hate crime. Two women – aged 74 and 44 – a 46-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl were all killed. They have not been named, following the wishes of the family. A nine-year-old boy was in the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, said police.

The attacker is named Nathaniel Veltman aged 20. The killer has no previous conviction history. One witness told CTV News she had to shield her young daughter’s eyes from the bodies.

The 2016 consensus showed that London is the place with the majority of the Muslim population living. One in five people were born outside of Canada, with Arabs being the area’s largest minority group, and South Asians coming in a close second.
