A man underwent surgery for the removal of a 60cm long phone charging lead from his abdomen.

The man, 30, reported severe abdominal pain last week. It is uncertain as to how the lead got into his abdomen. However, the doctors believe that it was swallowed or inserted out of sexual gratification.

When X-rayed, the man had a history of ingesting headphones too. The doctors got to know about a time-taking medical examination. The patient was given relieving laxatives before performing the surgery. A small incision was made into his gastrointestinal tract. After that, they found a 60cm lead in his abdomen.

5 surgeons performed the 45 minutes ling surgery in North India. The doctors, when interviewed, said, that they had not seen anything like that before in 25-years of practice. Moreover, the patient was given laxatives 2 days before because they did not want to perform surgery immediately.

The patient’s stools were also examined but nothing was found. Also, the patient was reluctant, to tell the truth to the doctors. Therefore, it led doctors to do a small incision and check the gastrointestinal tract.

‘Though I’m not exactly sure about his mental health, some people do things for sexual gratification, but this man took things a little too far,’ one of the doctors said.

The patient was discharged from the hospital after three days of recovery.
