Elon Musk’s startup showed monkeys with brain chips for playing video games.

Musk has been working on this startup for implanting chips. The billionaire made a small video showing his new business. The video showed monkeys playing video games with joystick and paddle. The species was seen controlling the controllers without any difficulty.

“First @Neuralink product will enable someone with paralysis to use a smartphone with their mind faster than someone using thumbs,” Musk tweeted on Thursday. The chip is implanted via Neuralink which sends electric signals to the brain. Moreover, electrodes are also implanted in the brain which acts as the motor cortex that controls hand and arm movements.

Co-founded by Musk in 2016, the San Francisco-based Neuralink aims to insert wireless chips. These chips are also useful in curing neurological disorders like Alzheimer’s and dementia. Musk also revealed an experiment on pig back in 2020 and tried to insert a chip. It was called “a Fitbit in your skull”. Musk has a history of bringing together diverse experts to develop technology and innovation. He is famous for inventing electric vehicle companies such as Tesla Inc and SpaceX.
