The rapper has invested $35,000 to stand as an independent candidate, but rumors are that he might be ending his campaign.

A representative for West did all the necessary documentation and paid the $35,000 fee to run as an independent candidate. Moreover, the deadline was off yesterday for a spot on Oklahoma’s 3 November presidential ballot. He was one of the candidates to pay the fee even before the deadline.

West adviser Steve Kramer cited that he is out and disappointed all his staff. However, it has been reported that the West campaign had filed a “Statement of Organization” with the Federal Election Commission lately. It stated that a Kanye 2020 committee would serve as the principal campaign committee for a West candidacy.

West has missed the deadline for his candidacy. The eligibility criteria to appear on presidential election ballots are different for every state. In Oklahoma, candidates need to get 35,592 signatures or pay $35,000. In Colorado, where the deadline to file is 5 August, candidates must get 5,000 signatures, or pay $1,000.

Before the filing, West tweeted “I am running for president of the United States.” West has always praised Donald Trump and his administration. However, this month he admitted of parting ways with the president. He told “taking the red hat off” which was a reference to Trump’s trademark red Make America Great Again cap.

West is said to have bipolar disorder. Moreover, he announced to model for White House if he won presidential elections 2020.
