The Duke of Edinburgh Prince Phillip died at the age of 99.

While England is shaken and engraved in sorrow on the death of King. The Duke of Edinburgh, the Queen’s “strength and stay” for 73 years, has died aged 99. Prince Philip died in the morning at Windsor Castle. The Royal family then made the announcement. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.” The king made a final official public appearance later that year during a Royal Marines parade on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace.

He was the longest-serving consort in British history and was only months away from his 100th birthday in June. The King has been suffering from the illness and was admitted to the hospital. Philip’s health had been slowly deteriorating for some time. He announced he was stepping down from royal engagements in May 2017. The reason behind the death is not disclosed, however. But an official letter has been circulated by the royal family. 

The King’s funeral has been planned with limited people due to COVID restrictions. The final public farewell will not be possible due to stricter restrictions.
