Today, we all are going through a dilemma of the unstoppable spread of fake news regarding the coronavirus.

It has made public confusion as to what is authentic and fake. Many social platforms are controlling the spread of fake news by novel policies. However, the situation does not seem to get better. WhatsApp has recently launched a new feature to cater to this problem. A new tool ‘Search the web’ is being launched which can detect fake news in a minute.

The new link enables the users to search for the respective information from the web. The user can verify the information by simply clicking on the magnifying glass. After that, a list is shown to the user displaying several websites proving the information to be fake.

This new feature is launched to curb the spread of fake news regarding COVID-19. In the previous update, double arrows were added to allow users to know that texts have not originated from a close contact which lets users know they’re perpetuating chain messages that could be false.

In the ongoing hard time, it is important to let the public aware of the authentic news. The fake news is only creating unrest and chaos among the public.
